Hans and Grete have been exploring the outside world lots recently, will they go on another adventure today?

Backstory: Here you’ll be able to see Hans & Grete two young owlets in this nest box. Hans and Grete are growing up fast now and are now 6 weeks old. They are largely left alone during the day by owl parents Gylfie and Barney. Hans has recently started looking out of the box – looking at the outside world!

Gylfie is the female and Barney is the male barn owl. They visit at night to bring food to the owlets. Barn owls feed mainly on voles. I am support feeding this family with dead day old chicks which are a by-product of the egg laying industry. This keeps them fit and well.

About Me: I am a British wildlife artist based in Thixendale, North Yorkshire, UK. I build ideal habitats to encourage wildlife into my garden and use nest cams to study their behaviour. These studies inform my paintings. I share the best of my video research on this channel for free. If you would like to support my work please consider purchasing my artwork which you will find on my website: https://www.robertefuller.com. Many of the paintings are portraits of the creatures you watch here!
